Functions of Material Handling?


1) Storage & preservation

Storage means keeping physical custody of material whereas preservation means keeping physical custody in such a way that quality & quantity of material remain intact. The design of ware-houses, storage facilities, racks, cup boards, crates, boxes and equipment's needed for internal movement of material, etc. are important part of material handling. Material handling is concerned with safe storage of raw materials, finished stocks, by-products, work-in-progress inventories, scrap & wastage, etc.

2) Transportation

The basic need of transportation of material arises because most manufacturing processes are made of multiple operations performed in the different & on different machines. This transportation need must be satisfied in such a way that it is done safely, economically & in timely manner.

3) Palletizing

Palletizing can be understood as an activity of converting or assembling small & loose pieces of regular sized objects to make one large size solid object. The purpose is to do safe & economical transportation. Foe example, loose soap bars can be arranged on a ply sheet. Another ply-sheet can be put on the top of regularly arranged stack of soap bars. The entire rectangular object can be tide & can be transported as one single object.

4) Handling at same work station

Some sophisticated machines are able to perform manufacturing operations. They are large machine & have many stage wise process locations. For example, the current technology of filling material in flexible pouches is done on one single machine called 'form-fill-seal' machine popularly known as FFs machines. Here many operations are performed on the same machines.

Product Layout क्या होता हैं पुरे विस्तार से जाने यहाँ मेरे साथ ? Product Layout  जो कम्पनी एक ही जगह पर पूरा काम करके सामान उपयोग के लिए बना देता है उसे हम Product Layout कह सकते हैं product layout में एक से ज्यादा मशीन लगाए जाते है जो की कर्मचारी को पहली बार पहले मशीन में Raw Materials को डाल देना होता हैं और फिर मशीन अपने आप काम करती हैं उस मशीन का काम हो जाने के बाद दूसरे मशीन में खुद जला जाता हैं उसी प्रकार से मशीन लगाए जाते हैं इससे काम में भी जल्दी होता है और कर्मचारी भी कम लगते हैं  जैसा की आप समझ गए होंगे की इसमें सभी मशीन बहुत विचार करने के बाद लगाया जाता है जिससे एक मशीन से सामान निकले और दूसरे मशीन में काम चालू हो जायेगा आप कोई मशीन लगाए फिर पहले मशीन से जहा सामान निकलता हैं वहां से दूसरा मशीन लगाया जाता हैं  इसमें production हमेसा होता रहता है अगर आप Textile Industry देखे होंगे तो आपको समझ में आएगा क्युकी उसमे हमेशा काम होता रहता हैं ये मशीन दो कर्मचारी अलग अलग समय पर चलते है एक कर्मचारी 12 घण्टे चलता हैं तो दूसरा कर्मचारी 12 घण्टे चलता है इस प्रक...
